BIG SIP (system – Andrew Balding, second time out 2yos, beaten by 10L or less on debut)
Andrew Balding does well with his second time out juveniles who were beaten on their debuts but ran within ten lengths of the winner. He’s scored with 109 of the 454 qualifiers (24% strike-rate) for a profit of £64.39 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 88.62, A/E = 1.23). BIG SIP, backed from 11-2 into 3-1, only went down by a neck in second place at Kempton on his debut last month despite running green and can go one better with Oisin Murphy retaining the ride.

WIMBLEDON HAWKEYE (system – Superlative Stakes, once-raced winners)
Since 2018, once-raced winners have landed all six renewals of the Group 2 Superlative Stakes (from 17 qualifiers) for a profit of £7.67 to a £1 level stake at SP. Kempton debut winner WIMBLEDON HAWKEYE is the only qualifier in today’s race and could provide a spot of each-way value against the short-priced favourite.

LETSBEFRANK (system – Jim Goldie, last time out winners, turf)
Since racing resumed after lockdown in June 2020, Jim Goldie has done well with last time out winners in turf races on the Flat, scoring with 43 of the 175 qualifiers (24.6% strike-rate) for a profit of £21.17 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 30.25, A/E = 1.42). He has four qualifiers today, including LETSBEFRANK, on a hat-trick after last month’s wins at Hamilton and Thirsk.

ANDALEEP (system – seasonal preference)
The Kublers have done exceptionally well with ANDALEEP since he joined them from Sophie Leech in the summer of 2022 and the eight-year-old’s handicap mark has gone up from 65 to 91. He’s always gone well in the July/August period, regardless of who trained him, landing seven of his 22 starts for a profit of £30.71, including form figures of 14211114 (5-8) on the back of a win or runner-up effort. Successful at Windsor 12 days ago, he can follow up.
