HAYDOCK 12.55 (Abandoned)
JOKE DANCER (system – Sue Smith, January)
Sue Smith has a fantastic record in the month of January, scoring with 63 of her 242 runners since 2014 (26% strike-rate) for a profit of £178.57 to a £1 level stake at SP. Smith’s JOKE DANCER has often gone well at this time of year, recording form figures from December to February of 615111113FP543 (6-14) for a profit of £14.99 to a £1 level stake at SP. At Haydock only, those figures improve to 15113 (3-5).
HAYDOCK 12.55 (Abandoned)
SAO (system – Rebecca Menzies, jumps handicaps, December/January)
As well as Joke Dancer (see above) I also want to support SAO. Trainer Rebecca Menzies has a fine record in jumps handicaps in December/January, scoring with 47 of her 256 runners (18.4%) for a huge profit of £137.58 to a £1 level stake at SP, and Sao, who hasn’t had the rub of the green since scoring at Wetherby in January 2021, will relish the deep ground if the meeting goes ahead.
LINGFIELD 1.37
PARIS LIGHTS (system – Siyouni, 4yo+, Polytrack)
Progeny of the sire Siyouni improve with age and they also have a great record on Polytrack. Backing all those aged four or older at Chelmsford, Dundalk, Kempton and Lingfield – the four Polytrack venues – would have found 38 winners from 201 bets (19%) for a profit of £58.10 to a £1 level stake at SP. George Boughey’s PARIS LIGHTS was an easy winner over course and distance on her stable debut and can follow up.
SOUTHWELL 2.00
PRINCESS NAOMI (system – Rod Millman, 3yos, all-weather, January/February)
Rod Millman has a good record with his three-year-olds on the all-weather at this time of year (January/February), with seven winners from 46 bets this century for a profit of £5.83. No less than 23 of the 39 beaten horses made the frame and PRINCESS NAOMI, runner-up at Kempton earlier thus month on her first outing since August, can again reward each-way support.
WOLVERHAMPTON 5.00
MADRINHO (system – Frozen Power, Wolverhampton)
Progeny of the sire Frozen Power have a 20 from 113 record on Wolverhampton’s Tapeta surface for a profit of £45.38 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 11.35). MADRINHO has contributed with wins at 14-1 and 6-4 from ten course outings and might be able to notch a third success in this 7f handicap, having looked on his way back when a 33-1 fourth from a poor wide draw over course and distance last time.
