DIVINE INSPIRATION (system – Malinas, young handicappers)
Backing the more youthful progeny of sire Malinas in jumps handicaps has been a worthwhile exercise, with those aged seven or younger landing 122 of their 669 starts (18.2% strike-rate) for a profit of £69.37 to a £1 level stake at SP. On ground deemed to be genuinely good to soft or softer according to Proforms’s going allowance the score is 76 from 382 (19.9%) for a profit of £103.22. DIVINE INPSIRATION was punted into 13-8 favouritism on soft ground at Wetherby in the spring when we last saw him and, though only a 13-length third that day, the subsequent wind operation suggests excuses that day and he can be backed to break his duck this afternoon.
HEREFORD 2.20
HARRY’S HOTTIE (system – Jamie Snowden, young handicap chasers, first or second chase outing)
Bang in-form Jamie Snowden has a cracking record with his young (aged four, five or six) handicap chasers who were having their first or second start in such company, scoring with 25 of the 98 qualifiers (25.5% strike-rate) for a profit of £34.88 to a £1 level stake at SP. HARRY’S HOTTIE, fourth over an inadequate trip at Ffos Las on last month’s stable debut, will appreciate today’s 3m1f trip and can get back to winning ways.
KEMPTON 3.30
BELLOCCIO (system – Bellardo, 3yo+ 1m+, Flat)
Backing all non-juvenile progeny of sire Bellardo over one mile or further on the Flat, turf or all-weather, would have found 85 winners from 598 bets (14.2% strike-rate) for a profit of £61.25 to a £1 level stake at SP. BELLOCCIO finished a creditable 50-1 fourth of seven behind Bay Bridge in a Group 3 contest over course and distance last time and will appreciate the return to Listed level.
