JKR COBBLER (system – Iain Jardine, last-time-out winners, recent run, turf)
Iain Jardine does exceptionally well with last-time-out winners who were bidding to follow up on turf (Flat or jumps) after a recent outing (20 days or sooner), landing 67 of their 220 starts (30.5% strike-rate) for a profit of £62.47 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 46.23, A/E = 1.45). JKR COBBLER was a narrow 12-1 winner over course and distance last time and the forecast rain on watered ground could mean it’s soft enough for him by post time (expect him to be withdrawn if the rain doesn’t arrive).

CELANDINE (system – Ed Walker, second-time-out 2yos, beaten by 5L or less on debut)
Ed Walker has a solid record with his second-time-out juveniles, especially the ones who were beaten on their debuts but ran within five lengths of the winner. He’s won with 24 of the 76 qualifiers (31.6%) for a profit of £24.12 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 18.88, A/E = 1.27). CELANDINE was only seventh of 12 at Goodwood on her debut last month but was beaten by just four and a half lengths and fared third best of those to come from well off the pace.
