KILLER KANE (system Joe Tizzard, first run after a wind operations, handicaps)
The Tizzard yard has a 15 from 87 record with handicappers on their first start back after wind surgery and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £62.88 to a £1 level stake at SP. KILLER KANE usually needs at least a couple of runs before hitting peak fitness and looks to have been primed for this 3m handicap chase, a race he won 12 months ago.
WOLVERHAMPTON 4.37
OPTICIAN (system – Expert Eye, won last time out)
Progeny of the sire Expert Eye tend to hold their form well and the last-time out winners have a 20 from 66 record when bidding to follow up a win (+£6.52 to a £1 level stake at SP, expected winners = 13.65). There are two qualifiers in this 1m4f handicap – Optik and OPTICIAN – with preference for the last-named who emerges best of the pair on Proform’s speed figures.
CHELSMFORD 6.45
MAKE CLEAR (system – Low-drawn Lingfield AW winners next time out, AW only)
Generally speaking, the inside rail on Lingfield’s Polytrack rides ‘dead’ and horses who win from low draws often make bets next time, especially when racing in another all-weather contest. Since the beginning of 2018, those who won from stalls 1 or 2 have a 116 from 430 record (27%) when bidding to follow up in another all-weather race for a profit of £59.63 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 96.30, A/E = 1.20). MAKE CLEAR made all from stall 1 in a 5f Lingfield last time and could prove hard to catch.
