Trainer Henry De Bromhead Has Won The Galway Plate Twice Since 2015
The other good news for Rachael Blackmore supporters in the 2023 Galway Plate is that trainer Henry De Bromhead has a fine recent record in the race. The former Gold Cup winning handler has won two of the last eight runnings, with his 2021 Grand National runner-up Balko Des Flos (2017) and Shanahan’s Turn (2015) the winners.
De Bromhead is also set to saddle Upping The Anti in Wednesday’s Galway Plate.

Hewick Bids To Repeat Last Year’s Galway Plate Win
The other big talking point heading into Wednesday’s Galway Plate is the return of last year’s winner Hewick. This bargain-buy 8 year-old landed this contest by 1/2 a length 12 months ago and is back for more.
