PSG have submit their opening bid for Atalanta hot-shot Rasmus Hojlund, but Manchester United remain confident over securing the striker despite PSG’s £43m offer.

PSG have been drowned in controversy surrounding their captain and star striker Kylian Mbappe this summer and there is a good chance the 24-year-old will never play for the French giants again after the transfer window.

With Mbappe potentially on his way out, PSG have already registered their interest over another future superstar this summer in Rasmus Hojlund.

The Atalanta striker has become one of the hottest properties this summer after a breakthrough season in Serie A last year, with the 20-year-old scoring nine goals in an impressive campaign.

Hojlund is expected to leave Italy this summer no matter what, with Atalanta already planning a replacement in El Bilal Toure who is close to signing from Almeria.

Manchester United have also been heavily linked with Hojlund this summer, with the Reds in desperate need of a new striker before the Premier League begins in August.

Following United’s 2-0 loss to Real Madrid in a pre season friendly on Wednesday, Erik Ten Hag spoke openly about his side ‘working 24/7’ on bringing in a new striker before the season starts.

United have reportedly already agreed personal terms with Hojlund and have also verbally offered £43m to Atalanta for the Danish star, so the PSG offer could actually have no effect on the player’s move.

If the Hojlund transfer does fall through for United, they have reportedly shortlisted Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani as a backup who has been valued at £86m by the German side.
