Luton Town take on Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday in a real David vs Goliath clash at Kenilworth Road.
The Hatters have perhaps done slightly better than what many would have thought and Arsenal and Liverpool fans will be the first to admit that Rob Edward’s side are tricky opposition.
City head to Bedfordshire without a win in their last four top flight outings and Pep Guardiola will be more than aware of the threat Luton pose.
However close it may go on the pitch when they met, the two teams are miles apart when it comes to finances and squad value.
Luton vs Man City Squad Price Comparison
According to Transfermarkt, Luton Town‘s full squad value comes in at £74.7m. This value is less than what Rodri, Phil Foden and Erling Haaland are priced at. Quite amazing when you think about it.
The Hatters most valuable player – excluding loan signings – is centre-forward Carlton Morris. The 27-year-old is priced at £8.5m and was their top scorer in the Championship last season.
Manchester City‘s full squad value comes in at a staggering £1.08bn, which is the costliest side put together in football history.
City’s most valuable player is Erling Haaland, who is priced at a cool £154.4m, which could purchase 19 Carlton Morris’. Haaland is in fact one of the most valuable players in world football.
🚨OFFICIAL : Ryan Giles has completed his £5m move to newly promoted side Luton to become there record signing in the clubs history. The deal includes add-ons, a sell-on clause and a buy back option.

Luton Town Record Signing
Unsurprisingly, Luton Town broke their transfer record in the summer ahead of their Premier League debut. Ryan Giles was signed for £5m from Wolves. The left-back has featured eight times in the top-flight and twice in the EFL Cup.
Giles has only been used sparingly this season and has only completed a full 90 minutes on two occasions. The 23-year-old has represented England U20’s on four occasions.
Man City Record Signing
Manchester City have purchased an abundance of world class talent in recent years but none were as costly as Jack Grealish. The England midfielder cost £100m when he joined from Aston Villa in 2021.
After a difficult first season, Grealish was one of Pep Guardiola‘s standout performers as City went on to win the treble in 2023.
