Red-Hot Luke Humphries Favourite To Land First World Title After Stunning 2023
Luke Humphries is the outright favourite with the best new UK betting sites to win the PDC World Darts Championship in 2024.
‘Cool Hand’ has enjoyed a breakout year in 2023, where he won his first major title before adding two more in the run-up to proceedings at Alexandra Palace on the biggest stage.
The 28-year-old beat tournament favourite Gerwyn Price to land the Grand Prix in October and followed it up with triumph in the Grand Slam just 42 days later, beating Rob Cross in the final with a 104.69 average.
If two majors weren’t enough, Humphries didn’t stop there and added a third by beating Michael van Gerwen (who hit a nine-darter!) to win the 2023 Players Championship Finals.
Humphries became the third player in PDC history, after Van Gerwen and Phil Taylor, to win three TV ranking titles in the same calendar year.

PDC World Darts Championship 2024 Odds
- Luke Humphries 10/3
- Michael van Gerwen 4/1
- Gerwyn Price 9/2
- Michael Smith 10/1
- Gary Anderson 14/1
- Rob Cross 14/1
- Peter Wright 18/1
- Nathan Aspinall 28/1
- Josh Rock 33/1
- Stephen Bunting 40/1
- Dave Chisnall 40/1
- James Wade 45/1
- Jonny Clayton 50/1
There isn’t much between the top three in the market and it looks a really hard one to call this year, but we can expect this impressive trio to give each of their backers a good run for their money in London.
Van Gerwen is already a three-time world champion at the age of 34 and he’s won two major titles this year in the form of the Premier League and World Series – with winning experience on this stage on his side also, so the fact he isn’t favourite is a huge testament to Humphries’ strong form.
It’ll be interesting to see how Gerwyn Price gets on, who let the famous ‘Ally Pally’ crowd get the better of him last year in the quarters vs Gabriel Clemens. Does he have a newfound mental resiliency to cope with the adversity?
Michael Smith has struggled to find his feet after winning a world title in January but 10/1 looks value for ‘Bully Boy’ who can beat anyone he wants if his A game’s there.
