After scoring twice at the weekend, Ollie Watkins is edging ever-closer to becoming Aston Villa’s all-time Premier League top scorer.

Ollie Watkins joined Aston Villa from Brentford back in 2020 after Villa were promoted to the Premier League.
Since then, the 28-year-old has become the main source of goals at Villa Park, scoring 30 Premier League goals across 3 seasons prior to the current 23/24 campaign.
Building upon his form from previous campaigns, this season, Watkins has been on fire for Aston Villa and has, unsurprisingly, become their talisman.
Having scored 13 goals in the Premier League so far, the England striker sits 4th in the list of Premier League top scorers for this season and looks set to break his record of 15 from last campaign.
As a result of Watkins’ fine form, Villa find themselves in 4th place in the Premier League table battling for the Champions League spots.
Against Fulham at the weekend, Watkins scored a brace to lead Villa to a vital 2-1 win and boss Unai Emery was waxing lyrical about Watkins’ importance to his side.
“He was fantastic,” Emery said.
“The best action was in the first half where he created a chance for (Youri) Tielemans.
“When he’s scoring, it’s very important for him and for us. I’m very happy with him and I believe his commitment has improved a lot. Defensively in set-pieces he is also very important, I’m very proud of him.”

Ollie Watkins & Villa’s Premier League Top Scorer Record
Following his brace against Fulham over the weekend, Watkins has edged closer to becoming Aston Villa’s all-time top scorer in the Premier League.
According to Transfermarkt, the England striker sits 3rd in the list on 53, just behind Dwight Yorke on 60, and incredibly, Gabby Agbonlahor on 73.
Still just 28, Watkins has plenty of time to catch Agbonlahor, but with the England striker regularly linked with a move away from Villa Park by Betting sites, it remains to be seen whether or not he will break it.
