Prior to his undisputed heavyweight showdown with Tyson Fury, we decided to take a deep dive into the boxing career of Oleksandr Usyk. Read on to find out more about his professional boxing record, previous fights, his world title record and how many knockouts he has under his belt.
Oleksandr Usyk Record
Oleksandr Usyk is widely regarded as the best heavyweight on the planet. He has hold three of the four recognised world heavyweight titles, as well as being The Ring Magazine World Heavyweight Champion too.
The Ukrainian boxer is entering the twilight of his career at the age of 37, but he has more big nights left and could well become the undisputed world heavyweight champion before he eventually calls it a day. Oleksandr Usyk is one of the best fighters in all of boxing right now, as well as being a potential pound-for-pound great.
Fans are now excited to see the reigning, defending, unified world heavyweight champion back in action against Tyson Fury next. Usyk takes on ‘The Gypsy King’ in their rescheduled undisputed world heavyweight title clash on May 18th. The Ukrainian is currently a slight underdog with the best boxing betting sites to reign supreme and defeat Fury.
Prior to the Fury fight, Oleksandr Usyk boasts an impressive boxing record of 21 wins to no losses. Of these 21 wins, Usyk has secured 14 stoppage victories, with seven of his fights going the distance. The only men to go the distance with Usyk are Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora, Murat Gassiev, Mairis Briedis, Michael Hunter and Krzysztof Glowacki.

Oleksandr Usyk first fought for a world title back in September 2016 when he defeated Krzysztof Glowacki via unanimous decision to win the WBO World Cruiserweight Title. Since then, Usyk has fought in nine more world title fights.
Of those nine fights with world titles on the line, Usyk has won each and every one of them. Usyk has not tasted defeat ever as a professional boxer, and has proved that he is one of the elite fighters of this generation.
During Usyk’s reign as champion down at cruiserweight, he fought some incredible champions and some stern tests. Usyk beat the likes of Mchunu in his first defence, before beating undefeated American cruiserweight Michael Hunter in his own back yard in the United States.
Usyk then again travelled to his opponents back yard, this time travelling to Germany to face Marco Huck. The Ukrainian won the bout via 10th round stoppage, which was indeed the first round of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) at cruiserweight.
Of course, Usyk went on to win the tournament, defeating Mairis Briedis in the semi-finals in a world title unification, before defeating Murat Gassiev in the final to become the undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world.
The 37-year-old made one more defence before moving up to heavyweight, conclusively knocking out Britain’s Tony Bellew in eight rounds. Then, Usyk began his career up at heavyweight with a seventh round stoppage victory over America’s Chazz Witherspoon in October 2019.

Then came the Derek Chisora fight for Usyk, which was his final fight before stepping up to world level and facing Anthony Joshua for three of the four world title belts at heavyweight. The Ukrainian beat Chisora via unanimous decision, before facing ‘AJ’ in December 2021 for the WBA-Super, WBO, IBF & IBO World Heavyweight Titles.
Usyk put on a brilliant display, beating ‘AJ’ via unanimous decision in Joshua’s hometown of London. This of course led to a rematch the following year in Saudi Arabia, in a fight that was much closer. However, Usyk was again the man to get his hand raised, making a successful first defence against Anthony Joshua in their highly-anticipated rematch.
Usyk then added yet another Brit to his resume last time out, knocking out Daniel Dubois in Round 9 of their fight in October 2023. That win of course finally set up the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk clash, which we will now see on May 18th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
That takes us up to now in the professional boxing career of Oleksandr Usyk. The 1987-born Ukrainian heavyweight is one of the best fighters of this generation, and will go down in history as one of the best fighters of the 21st century. Of that there is no doubt.
