Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of Everton winger Anthony Gordon in a deal worth up to £45 million, who was close to joining Chelsea last summer.
Gordon handed in a transfer request recently, and has finally got his move away from Goodison Park with nothing going right on Merseyside.

The winger has been at Everton since he was 11-years-old, and has scored seven goals in 78 appearances for the club.
You could say the £45m that Newcastle are paying is a better deal to the £60m+ that Chelsea almost payed in the summer, but for a player who’s not scored since October, it’s still rather high.
Gordon hasn’t started a game since Everton’s loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing Day.
With the 21-year-old finally putting pen-to-paper, he could make his debut for the Toon Army on February 4th when they host West Ham United at St James’ Park.
He seemed confident on what he can do on Tyneside, in an interview for Newcastle’s social media.
🗣️ "I feel like people haven't seen what I'm capable of yet. Under the gaffer and with the way the club's going, I think I can really excel here."
