It was a game that promised a lot with the two sides battling out to keep their Premier League status, and it delivered one of the games of the season.

Taiwo Awoniyi opened the scoring in the 18th minute for the hosts. Three minutes later he got his second of the game doubling his sides lead.

Four minutes after the second goal, Southampton pulled a goal back. However, just before half-time Morgan Gibbs-White restored Nottingham Forest’s two goal advantage.

Lyanco scored for Southampton after half-time, breathing life into the Southampton team. This was short-lived as despite their pressure, Nottingham Forest got another goal through Danilo.

James Ward-Prowse scored a late penalty to make the game 4-3, but it was too late for the Saints.
