Newcastle vs Manchester City Preview and Prediction
Newcastle are suffering an extremely poor run of form and Eddie Howe’s men face a huge task this weekend, as they welcome Manchester City to St James Park.
The Magpies have lost six of their last seven Premier League matches and have drifted 11 points away from the Champions League places.
The Toon are coming off a huge victory however, beating fierece rivals Sunderland 3-0 in round three of the FA Cup last time out.
Similarly, Manchester City picked up a massive 5-0 victory over Huddersfield in England’s oldest competition – which also saw the return of Kevin De Bruyne.
Pep Guardiola’s men have been on a strong run in recent weeks, remaining unbeaten in their last eight matches (all competitions).
With this in mind, we expect the visitors to reign victorious on Saturday evening and pick up a vital win to move within two points of first place.
Prediction: Newcastle 1-3 Manchester City
Newcastle vs Manchester City Tips
- Phil Foden To Score @ 11/5
- Both Teams To Score @ 13/20
- Combined Odds @ 17/5
Newcastle vs Manchester City Tip One: Phil Foden To Score @ 11/5
The Englishman has become a regular member of Manchester City’s starting eleven this season, as Pep Guardiola continues to put faith in Phil Foden.
Contributing to six goals in his last four appearances (4G+2A), the 23-year-old has stepped up during the absence of Kevin De Bruyne.
After analysing these stats, we believe the England international will be on target once again this weekend and 11/5 is a very enticing price.
Newcastle vs Manchester City Tip Two: Both Teams To Score @ 13/20
The Magpies have scored in each of their 10 Premier League matches at St James Park, as their home ground continues to be a fortress.
Manchester City have scored 21 goals in their last eight matches away from the Etihad (all competitions) and the return of Kevin De Bruyne is sure to increase this attacking output.
Here at SportsLens, we expect the visitors to have enough quality to score at St James Park and the home side are always a threat in front of their own fans.
