Last seasons beaten EFL Cup finalists Newcastle United beat Man City in the third round thanks to an Alexander Isak goal. Newcastle United Carabao Cup winner odds now 6/1.
Newcastle United made 10 changes to the side that beat Sheffield United 8-0 in the Premier League on Sunday. This included a back four that had never played together. Despite that, they’ve managed to beat Man City to progress in the EFL Cup.
Man City, who also made lots of changes, started well and created chances to take the lead. Newcastle struggled in the first half to keep hold of the ball but did have one chance through Jacob Murphy, but he couldn’t beat the goalkeeper.
The men in black and white came out strong in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Isak opened the scoring for Eddie Howe’s men.
