According to reports, Newcastle are among the host of clubs interested in Juventus star, Federico Chiesa, despite the Italian’s wage demands.

The Magpies have been on a meteoric rise following their Saudi Arabian takeover, but qualifying for the Champions League in Eddie Howe’s opening season has stunned the footballing world.

Boasting an impressive record against the top six sides in England, Howe has established himself as one of the best managers in the country.

Champions League qualification was not the only achievement for the club this season, as they reached the Carabao Cup final – losing 2-0 to Manchester United.

Key signings have been key for the Toon since Howe’s appointment, with the likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Kieran Trippier and Daniel Burn playing a huge part in the club’s success.

One player that could potentially sign for Eddie Howe’s side is Juventus striker, Federico Chiesa, who has also attracted interest from Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Chiesa returned to action this season after suffering a major knee injury, appearing 33 times for Juve in all competitions.

However, after contributing to 10 goals (4 goals & 6 assists) his potential suitors will be hoping to see the form of 2020/21 – prior to his serious injury.

During that campaign, the 25-year-old made 46 appearances for Juventus, netting 15 goals and 11 assists, alongside an impressive performance in Italy’s Euro 2021 triumph.

Any deal for the Italian’s services may face a huge stumbling block, as Chiesa is reportedly demanding an increased salary and still has two-years remaining on his current deal.
