1:40 – 2m4f Coral Racing Club Handicap Hurdle (Class 2)
SportsLens 1-2-3 Newbury ITV Racing Tips: JET POWERED is our first selection of the day and he is taken to return to winning ways despite almost a year off the track.
Nicky Henderson’s charge was an exciting novice hurdler last season, and won impressively on debut at Newbury before flopping next time out.
Jet Powered has had a few entries in recent weeks, but has not once been declared so the Seven Barrows team look to have found the perfect contest for this lightly-raced six-year-old. More market support would certainly be positive but we’re backing this son of Jet Away to triumph on his return.
Sebastopol won here over fences at this meeting last year and won well at Newton Abbot in September and is respected. Meanwhile, Uncle Bert could bounce back after falling when sent off as favourite at Cheltenham last time out.

2:15 – 2m 1/2f Bet In Race With Coral Intermediate Handicap Hurdle (Class 1)
SportsLens 1-2-3 Newbury ITV Racing Tips: BRENTFORD HOPE comes next and Harry Derham’s charge won very well over course and distance last time out when storming to a 16 length success and there looks to be more to come.
He has won three from four races for Derham and this is a much tougher assignment than his reappearance win, but he can go well despite going up 11lb.
Brentford Hope had plenty in hand when demolishing rivals in a handicap here last month so he may be hard to stop once again if applying the same patient tactics.
Under Control has not been seen since completing a quickfire double in April and has had a wind op recently and will likely be involved. Our Champ is two from three since joining the Chris Gordon yard in September and enters calculations.

2:50 – 3m2f Coral Gold Cup Handicap Chase (Class 1)
SportsLens 1-2-3 Newbury ITV Racing Tips: COMPLETE UNKNOWN is our pick for the Coral Gold Cup and the Paul Nicholls-trained gelding has had his sights set on this race for some time.
With form figures of 1-2-1-2-1 in his last five races, there’s clearly plenty of promise for this horse and he could provide the champion trainer with his first win in this race for 14 years since the legendary Denman bolted up in 2009.
He recorded a win on his reappearance in a three-runner race at Newton Abbot in October, and should come on a lot from that success. Nicholls’ charge was fairly useful of hurdles and looks to be even better over the larger obstacles and he could be tough to beat here in a wide-open contest.
Twig ran a stormer when coming second behind Whacker Clan on reappearance, denying him the hat-trick and ought to go well again, and Stumptown is a respected Irish raider coming from the in-form Gavin Cromwell yard.

3:25 – Coral Get Closer To The Action Handicap Chase (Class 2)
SportsLens 1-2-3 Newbury ITV Racing Tips: BOLLINGERANDKRUG has won four of his five races in 2023, all at Kelso and Lucinda Russell’s charge should relish the testing conditions expected at Newbury.
This is a bigger test but Lucinda’s horses are flying and he could take a huge step forward considering his versatility on all types of ground. He jumps well and it could be the difference in a hard race.
Master Chewy is a big danger and will provide a stern challenge looking to get back to winning ways and recent Haydock winner Real Stone could improve from that victory seven days ago.
