Moroccan International Sofyan Amrabat Rejects Liverpool In Favour Of Manchester United Move

Manchester United are reportedly a step closer to signing Fiorentina midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat, as the Moroccan prefers a move to Manchester over Liverpool.

The 2022-23 campaign saw success return to Old Trafford once again, as the Red Devils won silverware for the first time in seven years.

Not only did Erik ten Hag win the Carabao Cup in his opening season, the Dutchman also guided his side to third place in the Premier League.

Securing Champions League football was vital for the club’s ambition in the coming transfer window, as a host of Europe’s elite players have been linked with a move to Manchester.

Andre Onana and Mason Mount have both moved to Old Trafford this summer and according to reports, Fiorentina midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat, has caught the eye of Erik ten Hag.

After an impressive display in the 2022 World Cup, the footballing world took notice of the Moroccan midfielder and the 26-year-old continued a successful season with Fiorentina.

Making 49 appearances in all competitions, the former Hellas Verona player established himself as one of the top midfielders in Italy – reaching the Europa Conference League final.

The Moroccan international has reportedly rejected a move to Liverpool and is said to prefer a potential switch to Manchester – becoming their third summer signing.

With Fred set to leave the club this summer and Scott McTominay attracting interest from a list of Premier League sides – midfield reinforcements may be key this summer.

The Morocco international has a year remaining on his current deal in Italy, meaning he should cost around £25m this summer.

The Red Devils are also in negotiations with Atalanta over the exciting prospect, Rasmus Hojlund, who has agreed personal terms with the club. However, United are not willing to spend more than £60m which could see PSG hijack the move as they are keen to meet Atalanta’s price tag of £70m.
