Mohamed Salah is set to make his 300th start for Liverpool on Saturday, while also being one goal away from 200 goals for the Reds.

Mo Salah Liverpool Career

After a disappointing spell at Chelsea from 2013-2016, where Salah scored two goals in 19 appearances, many wrote the Egyptian off.

However, the pacey forward revitalised his career with a move to Roma and caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool – a move that would go on to change the fortune of both parties.

In 2017, Salah joined Liverpool for around £40m and in his opening season Salah contributed to 60 goals in 52 appearances (all competitions).

A whopping 32 of these came in the Premier League, which meant Salah won both the golden boot and PFA Player Of The Year in a remarkable season.

The following season would see the Egyptian win the Premier League golden boot once again with 22 goals – tied with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Heung-Min Son.

He would also contribute to seven goals in the Champions League and help Liverpool win Europe’s elite competition for the first time in 14 years.

His time at Liverpool continue to improve, as in the following 2019/20 campaign, Liverpool won their first Premier League title in history – with Salah scoring 19 league goals.

Liverpool failed to win silverware during the 2020/21 season. However, their star forward managed to score 31 goals in 51 matches (all competitions).

The 2021/22 season saw Salah win the Premier League golden boot once again, scoring 23 goals and was also key in Liverpool’s FA Cup/League Cup double.

During that campaign, Salah contributed to 47 goals in 51 matches in all competitions (31G+16A) and was now being regarded as one of the best players in Premier League history.

Last season (2022/23), was deemed a poor year for both Liverpool and Salah, as the Reds failed to qualify for the Champions League – however the 31-year-old scored 30 goals in all competitions once again.

So far in the 2023/24 campaign, Salah has scored 10 goals in 13 Premier League matches, while also contributing with five assists.

Given his track record and prolific goal-scoring, we imagine Chelsea are kicking themselves that they didn’t give Egyptian more time!
