MMA star Dillon Danis has pulled out of his scheduled boxing match with KSI as confirmed by the social media star on Twitter. KSI’s manager Mams Taylor also announced the bout has fallen through on promotors MisFits’ YouTube channel.

The pair were set to go face-to-face in the ring on January 14 at Wembley Arena.

KSI is determined still to fight, and the search will be well underway to find a replacement for Danis.

Mams Taylor announced the news to DAZN, saying: “I got a phone call saying that Dillon is pulling out of the fight. The real reason from what they (his team) said to me is that he’s under-prepared, he doesn’t have a coach, and he might be struggling with his weight even though there is no rehydration clause.

“He has not been able to find a team that is able to bring him into the fight. Obviously, he’s got some other issues. It’s very sad and unfortunate because he didn’t reciprocate the respect that we had given him. No word from him, he’s clearly embarrassed that he’s in this position.”

The unbeaten jiu-jitsu black belt Danis has never really appeared to be fully invested in the fight. He failed to turn up to a press conference ahead of the bout back in December, and he even revealed last month that he was unsure whether it was an exhibition or a professional bout.

Whatever happens in the coming 10 days, KSI will fight at Wembley Arena, with his team set to announce a new opponent imminently.
