Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made it clear he is not fully content with the club’s achievements during his four-year tenure at the club.
The Spaniard took the reigns at the Emirates Stadium in December 2019, transitioning straight from his three-year stint as Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach. His appointment followed Unai Emery’s departure amid the Gunners’ poorest form in 27 years.
Over the past four years in charge, Arteta clinched the FA Cup in the 2019/20 season and secured the Community Shield in both 2020 and 2023.
However, he aspires to win more significant trophies, particularly coveted titles like the Premier League and the Champions League.
When questioned about his overall performance with Arsenal, Arteta acknowledged, “‘I’m sure I would [have taken that]. But we still haven’t won enough important things, and we want to be better and more successful.
“[There are] a lot of things we have achieved together in those four years, but that’s nice for the people that have been in this journey with us together and the ones that are behind us as well.”

Arsenal led the Premier League table for the majority of last season and looked poised to win it for the first time since 2004, but a late-season downturn allowed Manchester City to overcome a five-point deficit and secure the title.
This season, Arteta has successfully guided Arsenal back to the Champions League knockout stages after a seven-year absence from the prestigious competition.
As of now, the Gunners sit at the top of the league standings, holding a one-point lead over Liverpool. Man City remain favourites to win the title, according to UK bookmakers, but fancy Arsenal as second favourites, with a price of around 5/2.
Arteta will be keen to extend their lead in a highly anticipated clash against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Anfield this Sunday – a ground that they haven’t won at since 2012.
