Mikel Arteta was forced to substitute Bukayo Saka before half time on Tuesday night, with Arsenal’s superstar struggling off the field for the second time in the last week.

The last thing Arsenal fans will have wanted to see on Tuesday night is Bukayo Saka leaving the field injured, but the 22-year-old was clearly struggling against Lens and Mikel Arteta was forced into a change early on.

The Gunners took an early lead against Lens, with Gabriel Jesus continuing his exceptional Champions League form to give the visitors the advantage against a tricky opposition.

Unfortunately for Arsenal they weren’t able to hold on to their lead, as Lens equalised shortly after with a fantastic finish beating David Raya in net, who previously gave the ball away leading up to the goal.

It was just after Lens’ equaliser that Saka was forced off the field, with the Englishman evidently in some discomfort holding the leg that seemed to cause him trouble during Arsenal’s win over Bournemouth at the weekend.

Saka has played 87 consecutive games for the Gunners, starting in 83 of them but having limped off with an injury in both of his last two games, things aren’t looking good for the winger.

Before he was hooked on Tuesday, Saka managed to get the assist for Gabriel Jesus’ opening goal of the game, taking his tally to five goals and five assists after his first ten games in all competitions this season.

With a tricky Premier League match against Manchester City coming up at the weekend, things are certainly looking tough at the minute for Mikel Arteta whose side is riddled with injuries all over the pitch.
