Michael van Gerwen Grand Slam Of Darts Odds
After winning each of his three group games, Michael van Gerwen is one step closer to winning the Grand Slam of Darts for the fourth time in his career. A win at the 2023 Grand Slam for ‘Mighty Mike’ will see him close the gap on Phil Taylor, who has a record six Grand Slam titles.
‘MVG’ has won the Grand Slam of Darts on three previous occasions, with the last coming in 2017 when he defeated Peter Wright in the final. The Dutch darting phenom also won the Grand Slam of Darts in 2015 and 2016, and will be looking to win the event for the first time in six years this weekend.
With the 2024 PDC World Championship just around the corner, the the three-time world champion looks to be coming into a rich vein of form just at the right time. A fully-firing Michael van Gerwen is a frightening proposition for the rest of the darting world.
The 34-year-old won all three of his group games, hitting four 180s in the process. He averaged 101.30 in his first game against Fallon Sherrock, before beating Rob Cross with a 94.58 average and a 90.27 average against his fellow Dutchman Martijn Kleermaker.
Provided ‘Mighty Mike’ wins tonight, the winner of the Nathan Aspinall vs Rob Cross tie await in the quarter-final. But first, Michael van Gerwen and Damon Heta will collide on the oche on Thursday, November 16th in a best-of-19-legs game.
‘MVG’ has beaten ‘The Heat’ plenty of times before, but will have to be on his A-game if he has any chance of progressing to the quarter-finals against a man who has beaten him in three of their last four head-to-heads.
