TNT Sports debuted their new body cam coverage ahead of Wolves and Tottenham’s game on Saturday lunchtime, with Max Kilman and Brennan Johnson donning the technology.

The popular broadcaster have recently agreed a deal with the Premier League to allow the technology to be used in warm-ups as IFAB laws permit it to be used in competitive matches.

TNT Sports decided to launch the new feature as part of their coverage before Saturday’s big early kick-off. Max Kilman and Brennan Johnson were the two players that got the nod to trial the new technology, taking fans through their preparations for the game.

TNT Sports confirmed the new body cam coverage before the game saying: “TNT Sports and the Premier League have parnered on a new innovation that will be trialled for Wolves vs Tottenham.

“A special AI-powered stabilisation body cam will be affixed to a player from each side during the warm-up prior to the Saturday lunchtime kick-off.”

The new technology was well received by the pundits before the game and former Chelsea player Joe Cole said the footage looked like “being behind the eyes of the player” also saying “it’s fantastic“.

Following the Wolves vs Spurs game, the technology is expected to be used regularly in the Premier League and could even start being introduced in Champions League and Europa League games, which TNT also cover.

With Johnson using the body came before the game for Spurs, it almost acted as a good luck charm with the Wales international scoring the opening goal of the game after just three minutes.

Sky Sports had previously used body cameras in pre-match situations two times last season when Brentford took on Bournemouth and also when Brighton hosted Manchester United.
