• 2:30pm – Queen Mary Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies) (Class 1) (2yo) 5f: RELIEF RALLY @ 13/2 with Paddy Power

Matt Chapman’s first tip on Wednesday at Ascot on Day 2 at Royal Ascot comes in the opening race of the afternoon in the Queen Mary Stakes. The ITV Racing pundit is siding with Relief Rally for trainer William Haggas to win at 13/2 odds with the best horse racing betting sites.

‘Chappers’ was at Yarmouth when Born to Rock made a winning debut and she was impressive, but he is taking her on here. The daughter of Kodiac scored at Salisbury last time and I like her attitude. Whether she’s good enough only time will tell, but she has the right attitude and stays strong for William Haggas and Tom Marquand.

The second tip for Matt Chapman on Day 2 of Royal Ascot comes in the form of Don’t Tell Claire in the Kensington Palance Fillies’ Handicap each-way.

The mare has plenty of decent form at Ascot and was far from disgraced when third on May 13 at this track. It’s arguable she might prefer a bit of cut in the ground, but she has a win at this track on fast ground and was eighth in this event in 2022 when a bit higher in the handicap. An each-way chance.

• 3:40pm: Duke Of Cambridge Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies & Mares) (Class 1) (4yo+) 1m: PROSPEROUS VOYAGE @ 9/4 with Paddy Power

Another of Matt Chapman’s best bets on Day 2 at Royal Ascot comes in the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes where he is siding with Prosperous Voyage.

Prosperous Voyage won at Epsom and ‘Chappers’ is happy to stick with her for Frankie Dettori and Ralph Beckett. She’s a Group 1 winner from the past and finished second to Cachet in the 1000 Guineas back in the day. When she brings her A game she’s much better than this lot. The problem is she’s not always consistent.

• 4:20pm – Prince of Wales’s Stakes (Group 1) (Class 1) (4yo+) 1m 2f: LUXEMBOURG @ 5/2 with Paddy Power

One of the biggest races of the week in the Group 1 Prince of Wales’s Stakes over a mile and a quarter. There is every chance Luxembourg will get an easy lead here – but even if he doesn’t he’s got every chance for Ryan Moore and Aidan O’Brien.

The former Guineas third kept on really well last time to deny Bay Bridge in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh when he made all and he has every chance to quicken up off the bend here and be very hard to peg back.

• 5:00pm – Royal Hunt Cup (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo+) 1m: ASTRO KING (e/w) @ 8/1 with Paddy Power

Astro King was fourth in this in 2022 and second in 2021 for Sir Michael Stoute. Now he’s handled by Danny and Claire Kubler and judged by his comeback run for them at York there’s every chance he can make it third time lucky under Richard Kingscote.

The lightly raced gelding loves fast ground and his run at York was very good as he was repeatedly denied a clear run. His placed runs here came off 102 and 98 so a mark of 99 is certainly workable. An each-way chance once again.

• 5:35pm – Queen’s Vase (Group 2) (Class 1) (3yo) 1m 6f: GREGORY @ 7/4 with Paddy Power

Matt Chapman’s penultimate betting tip on Wednesday at Royal Ascot sees him side with the favourite in Gregory in the Queen’s Vase.

This is the Group 2 Queen’s Vase for three-year-olds over a mile and three quarters. Very easy to stick with Gregory here for John & Thady Gosden and Frankie Dettori.

Once owned by Normandie Stud, the son of Golden Horn has won both starts and was impressive at Goodwood last time. The step up in trip should be right up his street.

Matt Chapman’s final tip on Day 2 at Royal Ascot comes in the final race of the day in the shape of Maximum Impact as a 11/2 outsider with the best horse racing betting apps.

A bit of a guessing game but ‘Chappers’ is happy to chance Maximum Impact for Kevin Stott and Alice Haynes. The son of Havana Grey is an Amo Racing and really impressed Chapman when getting his second success in a small field at Ascot last time.

He appears to go on any ground and if good enough has the attitude to run well. An each-way chance hopefully.
