Trainer Ian Williams loves to target these staying flat races at the big meetings and with the in-form Jim Crowley riding, Matt Chapman feels this 5 year-old is worthy of support. Last seen running down the field in the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle but that was on the AW and the return to the grass will help.
Prior to that effort had run a fine 4th (of 19) in the Ascot Stakes and is only rated a pound higher this time. Was also 4th in the Chester Cup in May on soft ground, so the deeper conditions here will be okay.

Looks one of the Goodwood bankers on the day after bouncing back to form to win the Listed Henry Cecil Stakes at Newmarket last month. Still only had four career runs but has now won three of those with his only blot coming in the Dewhurst Stakes (3rd) last October.
Sir Michael Stoute has won this race a record breaking 6 times too, while jockey Ryan Moore has mopped up four wins over the years. Chapman thinks the pair can add to their tally this year.

Lattam is a fast-improving miler that has now won 4 of his 7 career starts, including last time at Newcastle. Up just a pound for that run and has also won on soft/heavy ground in the past so conditions look ideal here.
Chapman also feels the horse has a “lovely racing weight” and a top draw in 3. Tom Marquand rides.

The John Quinn yard have been in the winners’ enclosure this week at Glorious Goodwood and have a top chance of doing so again with their stable star Highfield Princess. She’s the top-rated in the field off a mark of 117 and being a mare also gets a handy weight pull from the males in the race.
Yes, she’s not won since last September (5 runs ago) but has been contesting sprint races at the highest level so this ease into a Grade 2 will help. Soft ground is also a plus having won with give in Ireland last September.
