Manchester United vs Wolves Preview

Erik ten Hag and Manchester United will be looking to build on last season’s third placed finish by possibly challenging the seemingly unstoppable Manchester City, and that all kicks off on Monday evening when they host Wolves.

Wolves were in a relegation battle for large parts of the 2022/23 campaign, but after appointing Julen Lopetegui – the Spaniard steered the ship in the correct direction, finishing the season in 13th.

The Red Devils have added to their playing squad with three key signings. Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund have all arrived at Old Trafford, adding further quality to Ten Hag’s ranks.

Anthony Elanga, Alex Telles, Zidane Iqbal and David De Gea have all departed the club for pastures new.

Matt Doherty has returned to the Molineux after leaving Tottenham, and Wolves have also permanently signed Matheus Cunha, alongside Boubacar Traore.

Lopetegui’s side have seen more outgoings than they likely would’ve hoped, with Ruben Neves, Nathan Collins, Conor Coady, Raul Jimenez and Ryan Giles all exiting.
