Manchester United Injury Update: Andre Onana Should Be Fit For Everton Clash

The latest Manchester United injury update has indicated that goalkeeper Andre Onana should be fit to face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday. Onana was substituted late on whilst representing Cameroon in a World Cup qualifier last week, prompting fears the Red Devils lengthy injury list was about to grow again.

However, it appears the summer signing from Inter will be in between the sticks on Merseyside this weekend. The pelvic injury which saw him subbed against Mauritius was not as bad as first feared, and he has returned to Manchester to continue his rehabilitation.

Andre Onana Injury Update

Andre Onana has been ever-present for Manchester United this season but it appeared his 18-game streak was going to come to an end. The 27-year-old went off after 81 minutes on Friday night as a precaution but earlier fears indicated his injury could be more serious, but it appears that is not the case.

The Red Devils were likely to hand Altay Bayindir his debut if Onana didn’t recover in time, but the Turkish summer signing from Fenerbahce will have to settle for a place on the bench for the trip to Everton.

Andre Onana In 2023/24

Andre Onana has faced an indifferent start to his Manchester United career. After his brilliant form for Inter last season, Onana has often come under scrutiny at Old Trafford after being directly at fault for a number of goals conceded, but it’s not all been doom and gloom.

Onana has kept four clean sheets in the Premier League this season, including in the Red Devils last two fixtures against Luton and Fulham. Only Newcastle’s goalkeeper Nick Pope has more this year with five shutouts. In the UEFA Champions League, Onana brilliantly saved a last-gasp penalty against Copenhagen to ensure United went away with all three points.
