Manchester United fans shouldn’t expect much movement in the January transfer window, despite their torrid start to the season.

Manchester United This Season

Manchester United have made the worst start to a Premier League season in their history and were knocked out of the Champions League last week after losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich.

With rumours of dressing room revolts, the impending 25% purchase of the club by INEOS and an injury crisis, Manchester United’s form on the pitch has massively suffered.

Now, with Erik ten Hag’s side residing in 7th in the Premier League table and six points off of the Champions League places, many Manchester United fans would have been hopeful of a busy transfer window in the new year.

Despite this, along with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s imminent 25% purchase of the club, Manchester United fans shouldn’t expect too much activity in the upcoming January transfer window, no matter how much they need reinforcements.

According to journalist Mike Keegan, the main bits of business from the Red Devils will be outgoings, including Donny van de Beek and outcast Jadon Sancho.

Speaking on It’s All Kicking Off, Mike Keegan said: ‘The transfer window, I am told – do not expect big moves from Manchester United and that has nothing to do with the takeover. That is to do with Financial Fair Play and the balance sheet.

‘I am told the bits of business you can expect are: Jadon Sancho out on loan if they can find the right move for him and Donny van de Beek, a loan move out for him.

‘It’s not like this gets announced and all of sudden there’s all these players that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s group have got lined up and in they come.’
