Manchester City return to Premier League action against Tottenham on Sunday after securing a first place finish in their Champions League group in midweek, and ahead of the clash – we’ve got the latest line-ups and team news for both sides coming into the fixture.

Manchester City vs Tottenham Team News & Injury Update

The Cityzens come into Sunday evening’s crucial Premier League battle against Tottenham with three injury concerns after fighting from 2-0 down to beat RB Leipzig in Europe on Tuesday.

Long term absentee Kevin De Bruyne is one of those, and the Belgian remains out of action until the new year due to a hamstring issue, meanwhile Portugal international Matheus Nunes is a major doubt due to a muscular problem.

Fellow midfielder Mateo Kovacic is a slight doubt for the clash after missing the last two games because of a thigh injury, however he has since returned to full training and could be named in Pep Guardiola‘s squad to face Spurs.

Stefan Ortega started in between the sticks for Manchester City in midweek, but first-choice goalkeeper Ederson is expected to return to the line-up in his place for this one, while John Stones could make his first appearance since the start of November after being an unused substitute during the last two matches.

As for Tottenham, they have an incredibly extensive injury list which includes Ivan Perisic (knee), Rodrigo Bentancur (ankle), Micky van de Ven (thigh), James Maddison (ankle), Ryan Sessegnon (thigh), Manor Solomon (knee), Pape Matar Sarr (muscular), Richarlison (pelvic) and Alfie Whiteman (ankle).

To make matters worse for Ange Postecoglou, Cristian Romero is also unavailable due to suspension – leaving the likelihood of an unlikely central defensive partnership of Ben Davies and Emerson Royal.

Summer signing Brennan Johnson is expected to retain his position in the starting line-up for a fourth successive match, along with Dejan Kulusevski and Bryan Gil in Richarlison, Solomon and Maddison’s absence.
