Manchester City vs Sevilla Preview

The Super Cup is back, and this year it’s between Manchester City, who won the Champions League, and Sevilla, who won the Europa League.

City lifted Europe’s most coveted title for the first time in their history with a 1-0 win over Inter last season, whilst their La Liga opposition lifted Europe’s second-tier trophy for the seventh time after beating Roma on penalties.

Both sides have already kickstarted their league campaigns, with City coming out on top in their opener against Burnley, whilst Sevilla were defeated 2-1 by Valencia.

The pair haven’t been particularly active in the transfer market over the summer with just five signings between them. Pep Guardiola added Croatian duo Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol to his squad, whilst the Rojiblancos have signed Adria Pedrosa, Djibril Sow and Loic Bade.
