Manchester City’s hopes of landing a fourth consecutive Premier League title were handed a slight dent today following a surprising 2-1 defeat on the road against Wolves.

It came as no surprise that Pedro Neto was involved in the opening goal for Wolves, bursting down the right-hand side with an electric run of pace to burn Nathan Ake before his delivery was turned in with an own goal from Ruben Dias.

Julian Alvarez levelled the scores with a superb free-kick on the brink of the hour mark, finding the top corner from the edge of the area to bag his third goal of the league campaign.

Hee-Chan Hwang scored what proved to be the winning goal after 66 minutes after the visitors failed to clear the danger inside their own box and the Korean made no mistake in finding the back of the net.

The defeat marked consecutive losses in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side following Wednesday night’s exit in the EFL Cup third round at the hands of Newcastle United.

City are aiming to become the first side in history to win the title four times in a row, and remain at an odds-on price to do so according to Premier League betting sites despite today’s upset.

Guardiola had quite the press conference in the build-up to this game on Friday, in which he conceded that the Sky Blues ‘always struggle at Wolves’ as well as forgetting Hwang’s name and calling him ‘the Korean guy’.

No doubt the Spaniard certainly knows the Korean guy’s name now after securing the match-winner, lifting Wolves up to 13th in the table and four points clear of the relegation zone.

City lead the league by just one point after Saturday’s 3pm fixtures, with Arsenal breathing down their neck following a triumphant 4-0 win away at Bournemouth.
