Pep Guardiola has confirmed the Manchester City team news as they prepare for their trip to London to face West Ham.
While speaking to the media, Pep confirmed that Jack Grealish, John Stones and Mateo Kovacic will all miss this weekend’s game. The trio are looking to make a speedy recovery with the Champions League almost upon them.
On Grealish and Stones, Guardiola said:
“They are both Injured. They aren’t able for tomorrow.
“I don’t know (how long for) – I don’t think they will be ready for Red Star, but we will see, step by step.
“The injury for Jack is not muscular, but he has an incredible knock on his knee. Still the damage is there.
“John is still a little better, but has a disturbance in his muscles.”
The news on Kovacic is more positive:
“It is something muscular, and not a big issue but he’ll be out for tomorrow.”
Stones has been absent since the Community Shield game against Arsenal. Last season he was one of the best players for City, but it doesn’t look like they’re missing Stones just yet. Despite that, they’ll be keen to see Stones back on the field.
Is John Stones being overlooked?

New signing Kovacic has impressed since he joined from Chelsea. He missed the recent Croatia games but has featured in all four Premier League games for City.
Fans will be happy to see the Manchester City team news doesn’t show too many new injuries after the international break.
