Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Belgium international, Jeremy Doku, following the recent departure of Riyad Mahrez.

Manchester City stunned the footballing world by winning the treble during the 2022-23 campaign, as they ended their long wait for a Champions League trophy.

Despite this historic achievement, Pep Guardiola is reportedly keen on strengthening his side this summer and the blue side of Manchester are set for a huge overhaul this summer.

As well as a host of additions, the club are also preparing for a plethora of departures, as Ilkay Gundogan left Manchester in the opening stages of the summer window – joining Barcelona on a free deal.

Another player who has moved elsewhere this summer is Algerian winger, Riyad Mahrez, as the Algerian joined Al Ahli for around £30m.

This has made the signing of a winger a necessity for Guardiola’s side and according to reports, the Premier League champions are interested in Belgium international, Jeremy Doku.

The winger has established himself as one of the hottest prospects in Europe over recent years, making 90 appearances for Stade Rennais – contributing to 21 goals.

The 21-year-old is known for his tricky dribbling, electric pace and mature outlook despite being born in May 2002. However, the Belgian is yet to register a goal in six Champions League appearances.

Doku had previously been linked with a move to several European sides but now appears set on a move to the Etihad and will be a direct replacement for Riyad Mahrez.

The former Anderlecht player has two-years remaining on his current deal, meaning any move away from France could cost up to £40m.

City may continue their business late into the transfer window, as Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker could both leave the club after attracting interest from some of Europe’s elite sides.
