Pep Guardiola has thrilled Manchester City fans as he has decided to start Ruben Dias in today’s afternoon kick-off against Aston Villa.
The blue side of Manchester are going through a poor run of form given the standards they have set over the last few years. Coming off a 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur, and amid the FFP allegations, Guardiola’s side will be looking to maintain their title hopes with a win over Aston Villa.
A long-awaited inclusion in Manchester City’s starting XI is Ruben Dias, who has been one of city’s star players since his arrival. He has had an injury-ridden season so far, but will be hoping to have an instant impact on his return.
The Portuguese defender has appeared 13 times in the Premier League this season, with his last 90 minutes coming back in October 2022. The recent exit of Joao Cancelo, who has joined Bayern Munich on loan, has meant that the defensive reinforcement of Dias is much-needed.
The Cityzens showed their excitement about Dias starting on twitter as they reacted to the club’s starting XI post.

City fans will be hoping that Dias can perform as they try and take advantage of Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Brentford yesterday. The Gunners are still 3/1 favourites to win the title, according to UK betting sites, but City will be hoping a win today can change that.

Aston Villa XI: Martinez, Young, Konsa, Chambers, Digne, Luiz, Kamara, Buendia, Ramsey, Bailey, Watkins
