Maidstone vs Stevenage Preview
National League South outfit Maidstone United welcome League One high-flyers and promotion hopefuls Stevenage to the Gallagher Stadium for Round 3 of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon in an early 12.30pm kick-off.
Stevenage will be hopeful of securing back-to-back promotions to the Championship come May, but first aim to progress further in the FA Cup. They have a great chance to do so, playing a side three leagues below them in the English Football League pyramid.
The National League South side will be confident of upsetting the apple cart though, just like they did against League Two side Barrow in Round 2 of the FA Cup and Chesham on their travels in Round 1. They have won six of their last seven home games in all competition, looking to pull off yet another upset this weekend.
Stevenage boss Steve Evans is an expert at getting teams promoted and winning against the odds, so will be confident that his side get the job done, but will be wary not to fall victim to an FA Cup ‘giant killing’ in Round 3 on their travels to Maidstone united.

George Elokobi, Maidstone United boss, will be looking to pull off a huge upset in the next round of the FA Cup. He knows his side are more than capable of this, having knocked out League Two Barrow in the last round.
In terms of team news, the Stones will be without Round 2 FA Cup hero Bivesh Gurumg. Gurung scored a wonder goal to upset the odds and beat Barrow in the last round, but he is suspended for Saturday’s home tie against Stevenage.
Razzaq Coleman-De Graft has also had his contract terminated by mutual consent, so won’t be available for selection on Saturday afternoon.
