Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita will leave the club at the end of the season following a disappointing spell in England, per Fabrizio Romano.
Fans were ecstatic when Jurgen Klopp managed to secure Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, after the midfielder’s impressive spell in Germany. The Guinea international contributed to 27 goals in 58 Bundesliga matches, making him on of Europe’s hottest prospects.
Signing in 2018, the tricky midfielder was expected to take Liverpool to the next level but things have not gone to plan. A mix of injuries and failure to adjust to the Premier League has seen the 28-year-old make 84 appearances for the Reds.
Respected journalist, Fabrizio Romano, has confirmed Keita’s exit on Twitter, with the club standing by their decision to not keep the former RB Leipzig player in Merseyside.
Naby Keita will leave Liverpool on a free transfer. No changes on the plan for him and Oxlade-Chamberlain, decisions are made since November — and same will happen for Arthur Melo’s loan. 🔴 #LFC

This season was Keita’s final chance to prove himself in front of the Kop, as his contract comes to an end in the summer. However, he is yet to play a full 90 minutes and it was decided that he would not be signing a renewed deal.
Liverpool spent £52m on the midfielder and are set to let him leave as a free-agent at the end of the season – showing their thoughts on the Guinean’s time in England.
The Reds are already being rumoured with possible replacements, with the likes of Mason Mount and Jude Belingham being tipped to move to Merseyside. However, the Reds may not qualify for the Champions League which could cause issues in their transfer business.
What’s next for Keita? Well, the possibility of using him in a player swap plus cash deal for Bellingham has been rumoured. Returning to the Bundesliga may be what’s needed for Keita to restart his career and show the quality he displayed at Leipzig.
