Kylian Mbappe has been allowed to return to PSG first team training today despite having no involvement in last night’s Ligue 1 opener versus Lorient, after he indicated that he is committed to the club and the institution.

The Kylian Mbappe saga at PSG continues, as the club have now allowed the forward to return to first team training despite initially claiming that he’d be frozen out of the squad.

PSG, of course, have attempted to offload the Frenchman this summer to gain a fee for his departure, however he has informed the club’s hierarchy that he won’t be leaving this summer under any circumstances, and will therefore almost certainly leave on a free transfer next summer.

It had been reported that Mbappe would be forced to train seperately from the first team, and would have no involvement in Luis Enrique’s squad this season, but the situation looks to have changed now.

In a statement from Paris Saint-Germain, the club confirmed that they and Mbappe had positive discussions prior to Saturday’s Ligue 1 stalemate versus Lorient, in which he had no involvement.

“Following very constructive, positive talks between PSG and Kylian Mbappé before game vs Lorient, the player has been reinstated into first team training squad this morning” the statement read.

Despite being held to a disappointing goalless draw, PSG’s outing against Lorient signified a new era for the club.

With the likes of Marco Verratti and Neymar Jr expected to depart, Lucas Hernandez, Milan Skriniar, Manuel Ugarte, Marco Asensio, Lee Kang-In and Goncalo Ramos all made their competitive debuts for the French champions.

Ousmane Dembele, who also joined this summer from Barcelona, had no involvement in the clash and was pictured alongside Mbappe in the stands.

PSG’s summer business comes amid a new vision spearheaded by the club’s hierarchy where they will now look to develop younger talent going forward.
