Manchester City star is reportedly a step closer to agreeing a deal with Bayern Munich, as talks with the Bundesliga side progress.

The England international has cemented his place as one of the Premier League’s greatest full-backs during his time in Manchester.

Making 254 appearances under Pep Guardiola, the former Tottenham Hotspur player has won a plethora of trophies, including, five Premier League titles, four Carabao Cups, two FA Cups, and most recently, a Champions League.

Walker’s contract at the Etihad is set to expire in 2024 and with a renewal looking unlikely, his time in Manchester could come to an end this summer.

According to reports, the England international has been in contact with Bayern Munich over a possible move to Germany this summer.

Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Walker has told Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola that he wants to leave for Bayern Munich.

The former Spurs player is with the squad travelling to Japan and is set to begin negotiations with the German side in Tokyo – in hopes of confirming all details.

According to Plettenberg, Bayern and City need to agree the transfer fee, however, personal terms have already been agreed. Meaning Walker will sign a contract that should keep him in Munich until June 2025, with the addition of an option for another year.

Officials from Manchester City were still hoping to speak with Walker this week, but that the player had already made his intentions clear.

Juventus are also keen on landing the Englishman’s signature, however Walker is reportedly preferring a move to the Bundesliga this summer.

The Cityzens are already on the hunt for an immediate replacement and may be in negotiations with the Bavarians once again, as Benjamin Pavard has caught the eye of Guardiola.
