Jurgen Klopp has reaffirmed his commitment to Liverpool following reports in the media linking him with the vacant manager role with the German national team.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he is going nowhere, and he plans to stick it out at Anfield for the remainder of his contract despite being heavily linked with the vacant German national team manager role.

Klopp had been tipped to take over from Hansi Flick after he was sacked following the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but remained in his role with the Reds and has started the season fantastically.

The Merseyside club drew their opening Premier League fixture, but have since won all four league outings, including an impressive 2-1 win over Champions League outfit Newcastle despite being down to 10-men for the majority of the match.

And now, after the dust has settled in terms of the Germany job, and amid his home nation now looking set to appoint ex-Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann, Klopp spoke out in regards to the links.

“We’re building Liverpool 2.0 here, we want to attack again and not just look at how much longer can we go on. I have a loyalty to Liverpool,” he told RTL.

“My heart is here in Liverpool. You can’t just cut out the eight years. I signed a contract here and, as far as I can remember, I wasn’t drugged or tied up and had to sign with my mouth. That was a free decision. And that’s why it doesn’t fit.”

Following on, Klopp was asked to give his thoughts on the prospective appointment of Nagelsmann, to which he was full of praise for the young manager.

“I think Julian is a great solution because he is a great coach. I would be very happy about it – if it happens that way,” he said.

“Age? It doesn’t matter! He had already proven at 28 that he is a fantastic coach. He has eight years of experience. Others have that at 45 or 50 – at the highest level. That is not a criteria at all.”
