Ajax are reassuring Jordan Henderson they have serious interest in signing him ahead of his crunch talks with Al-Ettifaq. Talks with the Saudi Arabian club are being scheduled by the player so that there is a clearer understanding of his situation by the start of next week – and the England international is pushing for a move.

It is not expected that his Saudi club will be welcoming to any transfer request but Henderson is concerned about his place at Euro 2024, and is being touted around Europe as a player that could have huge influence across the second half of this season.
The traditions and history of Ajax appeal to the 33-year-old, as well as the level of competition in the Eredivisie, but the finances around such a move would be key to making it feasible and other opportunities could also yet open up.
