Jermaine Franklin’s first 21 fights all took place in the United States. Until his last fight, Franklin had never fought in a 12 round contest. He has however gone 10 rounds on four occasions.

His first real test at heavyweight came back in April 2019 when he beat Rydell Booker in Atlantic City in a closely fought contest. In the end, Franklin won a unanimous decision and made the fight a lot easier than it was meant to be on paper.

Those three names are the biggest names on Franklin’s resumé to date. He had one more fight before the Whyte fight, which proved to be the American’s toughest fight. In the end, Dillian Whyte handed the 29-year-old his first defeat as a professional boxer.

However, it was anything but routine for the British heavyweight who won a majority decision. A lot of people thought Franklin did enough to win the fight, but ultimately he wasn’t awarded the decision.
