James Maddison tried having banter with Arsenal fans at the World Darts Championship final but the Alexandre Palace staff didn’t see it that way and confiscated a sign that Maddison had written.
What did the sign say?
Arsenal fans had spotted Maddison when the cameras cut to him in the crowd watching the World Darts Championship final. They began chanting ‘Tottenham get battered, everywhere they go’ and Maddison was very quick to respond.
He held up a sign that read: North London is white! COYS {come on you Spurs)’. Maddison’s response must’ve caused some security issues as Ally Pally staff were straight over to confront Maddison about the sign and asked him to take it down.

Fans are allowed to write on the boards that are located at their tables but anything deemed offensive and the staff are alerted and they confiscate the boards.
Why was Maddison at the darts?
Maddison was in attendance last night as he wanted to show his support to teenage wonder Luke Littler. Before the match, Maddison told Sky News that he welcomed Littler to his box at Tottenham to watch them take on Bournemouth:
“It’s a bit special this year with young Luke [Littler]. “I always love the darts, I’ve been the last few years but I’ve never been to the final.
“I think the whole nation is tuning into this one because of Luke Littler. I had Luke as a guest in my box at the Tottenham game with Bournemouth on the weekend.
“He’s quite an assured young man but you have to remember he’s only 16 and there’s quite a lot of pressure on him.”
Maddison’s Arsenal rivalry
Maddison has had other darts related banter earlier on in the season. In the Arsenal and Tottenham game, Bukayo Saka mimicked Maddison’s trademark darts throw celebration.
After the game Maddison was questioned about Saka’s celebration. Maddison responded: “Me and Bukayo had a bit of banter and a bit of trash talking on international duty.
“And I got told he did the darts celebration – he must have still been doing it when I turned him for the first goal I think, so I’ll have a little word with him in there!”
He was also asked whether he’d do a 501 against Saka at the Ally Pally, Maddison simply replied: “His action was terrible though, wasn’t it?”
