Is Rasmus Hojlund injured ahead of Manchester United vs Everton this Sunday? Read on as we explore the Danish striker’s injury history following his move to Old Trafford this year.
Will Rasmus Hojlund play for Manchester United vs Everton?
Erik ten Hag told the media on Friday that a decision on Rasmus Hojlund’s availability for Manchester United‘s trip to Everton on Sunday will be made tomorrow.
Earlier this month, it was announced the youngster had suffered a muscle strain in the Red Devils’ 1-0 win over Luton which led to his substitution in the 79th minute.
The club statement sounded hopeful that he would return before the end of November, and it looks like there’s a chance of him being in the squad for Sunday’s Goodison Park showdown.
Hojlund is still waiting to bag his first Premier League goal which would come at the tenth time of asking against Everton, the side unbeaten in their last four across all competitions.
“Luke Shaw will available for Sunday. He will be in the squad.” ✅

Rasmus Hojlund Injury History
According to Transfermarkt, Hojlund has been sidelined with three injuries in his career to date – two of which have come since his switch to United.
- Adductor pain: May 3-12, 2023 (19 days)
- Back injury: August 1-31, 2023 (30 days)
- Hamstring strain: November 11-24 (13 days)
In August, some reports detailed that when the Red Devils signed Hojlund, he was in the process of recovering with a back injury that was picked up during his medical.
The club sent Hojlund to the nation’s capital London for an MRI, when it revealed a stress response hotspot in his back – which is known to sometimes start stress fractures in young players.
Something to look out for as the 20-year-old continues an impressive start to life in Manchester, where he has emerged as the joint-top goalscorer in the Champions League with five goals.
He sat out Denmark’s recent close to the Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, where they successfully qualified – topping Group H – as Hojlund scored seven and provided one assist in eight games.
If he can’t make the squad in time for Everton, there is hope he can get back to training within the next week and ramp up his return.
