According to reports, Inter Milan are monitoring the situation of Alvaro Morata, as a deal to sign Romelu Lukaku looks unlikely.

The Nerazzurri had gone into the 2022-23 season as one of favourites to win the Serie A title, however Simone Inzaghi was unable to clinch the title and his side finished third.

In the Champions League, on the other hand,  Inter were drawn into a “group of death” with European giants Barcelona and Bayern Munich. However, they dealt with all issues out in front of them and were narrowly defeated in the UCL final.

Triumphs in both the Supercoppa Italiana and Coppa Italia add a further gloss to Inter’s season and now supporters will be looking forward to the summer transfer window.

Former striker, and recent loan addition, Romelu Lukaku, has been linked with a return to Italy following a disappointing spell at Chelsea. However, the clubs are struggling to agree a deal and Inter have turned their attention to Spanish marksman, Alvaro Morata.

The Atletico Madrid star scored 15 goals in all competitions this season and continued his fine run in La Liga, after struggling to adapt to the Premier League.

As the summer window continues to produce a host of transfer rumours, the 30-year-old has attracted interest from Inter Milan.

Morata has a release clause of just £10m, meaning any deal to sign the former Chelsea striker could be a simple deal to finalise and may see a move happen sooner, rather than later.

On the other hand, the Spanish international is under contract until 2026 and will not be available on a free transfer for another two-years.
