The Red Devils have started to turn their fortunes around in 2024, remaining undefeated so far and moving to within five points of the top four.

A big part of this has been down to the form of Danish international, Rasmus Hojlund, as the youngster has scored five goals in his last five league appearances.

The 21-year-old had not scored in the Premier League after 14 matches and finally broke this drought on Boxing Day last year – scoring the winner against Aston Villa.

Signing for the Red Devils in the summer with a hefty price tag (£72m) may have put added pressure on the Dane, but his teammate, Harry Maguire, has been full of praise for the striker.

The former Manchester United captain said: “We always knew goals were going to come from Højlund because he’s an exceptional talent.”

“This club has built a philosophy where young players get chances, and if you take your chance, you stay in the team, and this manager has proved that.”

Maguire has also enjoyed a recent redemption at Old Trafford, after almost leaving the club in the summer and being stripped of the captaincy.

In United’s most recent match (2-1 win over Aston Villa), the 31-year-old was awarded with Sky Sports’ man of the match and continues to feature under Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag’s side are out of the Champions League and Carabao Cup following a disappointing start to the season, but are back in the race for the top four.

United’s next outing is an away trip to Kenilworth Road, as they face Luton Town on the secondary Super Sunday fixture.
