Former Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has insisted that his side’s win over Brentford could be a turning point in the season for the Red Devils, after a difficult start to their 2023/24 campaign.

Manchester United have been one of the most underwhelming sides in the Premier League so far this season, having picked up just four wins from their first eight games of the campaign.
But its not just the Premier League where Manchester United have struggled, as the Red Devils have failed to pick up a single point in the Champions League after their first two games back in the competition.
Harry Maguire was full of exuberance after Manchester United’s late comeback against Brentford over the weekend, with the defender confident the three points could be a turning point for his side this season.
Speaking after the Brentford win, Maguire said: “That was a really important win. Obviously it has been a difficult time for us at the start of this season. We’ve not had the results that we, as a club, demand. Like I said, I think the season must start now.
“This must be a turning point for us all, as individuals and as a club. We must kick on from this.

“I’m always ready when I’m playing. I work hard in training and keep fit every day, and I’m happy that I contributed to a win.” He added.
Maguire has been in the news a lot this season for Manchester United, as the club were reportedly planning on selling their former captain just before the season began – until Maguire said he wanted to fight for his position in the team this season.
The 30-year-old was handed his first start of the season on Saturday against Brentford, with Maguire putting in a good performance despite his critics in the absence of the injured Lisandro Martinez.
