Liverpool V Leicester has provided us with some scintillating goals in the past decade. Sportslens decided to have a look at some ahead of their Carabao Cup clash this evening.

Danny Drinkwater – 27th February 2017

This was the first match after the controversial sacking of Claudio Ranieri, the season after he had won the title with Leicester. They needed the three points and they got it in style with a 3-1 win. Danny Drinkwater’s goal was a talking point as he hit a volley first time around 35 yards out following a corner clearance. Back of the net!

David Nugent – 1st January 2015

A ball whipped behind the Liverpool backline saw Jamie Vardy chest it back to Nugent who struck it on the half-volley into the bottom left hand corner. Tidy.

Jamie Vardy – February 2nd 2016

Perhaps the pick of the bunch. Riyad Mahrez launches a ball towards Vardy and he hits it on the half-volley and it flies over Simon Mignolet who had no chance. An absolute rocket.

Phillipe Coutinho – 23rd September 2017

Coutinho’s free-kicks were always a thing of beauty and this one is no exception. He brilliantly bends this one over the wall and past Kasper Schmeichel.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 15th May 2023

Another free-kick goal…of sorts. Mohamed Salah lays it off and Alexander-Arnold wonderfully whips it with pace and power. A fine strike.

Adam Lallana – 10th September 2016

Champions Leicester City came to Liverpool and got a 4-1 hammering. This goal from Lallana being the pick of the bunch.

Let’s hope for some spectacular finishes tonight as the two meet at Anfield in the Carabao Cup third-round.
