BBC Studios has revealed that Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester United and England footballer Gary Neville will join the Dragons’ Den as one of two of the first ever ‘Guest Dragons’ on the programme.

Typically on our screens for football punditry, Gary Neville is set to explore another avenue of prime time television as BBC Studios has confirmed that the ex-Manchester United and England defender will join the star-studded Dragons’ Den line-up for season 21.

Neville will join as one of two of the first ever ‘Guest Dragons’ on the programme, as well as fashion and retail entrepreneur Emma Grede.

The pair join the BBC One show’s Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman, Sara Davies, and Steven Bartlett in the iconic Den.

“It’s a pleasure to join the Dragons as a guest for the new series and see some of the amazing pitches from budding entrepreneurs from different walks of life.” Neville said upon joining the team.

“It was a privilege to share my knowledge and guidance with the brave entrepreneurs who entered the Den, but you’ll have to wait and see whether I committed to any investments.”

Since retiring from football, Neville has taken on a number of business ventures, including the Hotel Football, the Stock Exchange hotel, the Buzz 16 production company and several other property developments.

The 48-year-old is also the co-owner of League Two side Salford City, which was subject to one of the most popular documentaries on Sky TV in which him and his fellow ‘Class of 92’ owners were followed in their attempts to take the club to the Premier League.

He’s also involved with ‘The Man Behind The Curtain’ restaurant in Leeds, ‘GG Hospitality’ and ‘UA92’ – a study programme launched alongside ex-players from the ‘Class of 92’.
