Relegation still remains a major threat to Leicester this season, after the Foxes were on the end of a 5-3 loss to Fulham on Monday afternoon.

Leicester fans who traveled down to Craven Cottage on Monday will have been disappointed to spend their bank holiday watching their side crumble once more and the game got off to a the worst possible start for the visitors who were behind after just 10 minutes.

Willian got his first of the game with a free kick that bounced just in front of Daniel Iversen and found the back of the net, before Carlos Vinicius doubled the hosts advantage just eight minutes later to give Fulham a commanding lead.

Two goals wasn’t enough for Fulham in the first half however and their third was set up by Carlos Vinicius just before half time and scored by midfielder Tom Cairney.

The Brazilian striker did well to hold off his marker and pick out Cairney in the box, with the Scotsman able to smash a low shot into the bottom corner to give Fulham a 3-0 advantage going in at half time.

Cairney scored his second of the game just after half time, with the midfielder volleying the ball past Iversen for a wonderful team goal and Fulham’s fourth of the day.

Leicester didn’t give up despite their four goal deficit and the Foxes managed to pull one back just before the hour mark, as Harvey Barnes scored his 11th of the season to give Leicester a glimmer of hope.

Jamie Vardy had a penalty saved just minutes before Willian grabbed his second of the game and all but guaranteed the hosts a win after a tough fight from Leicester.

Leicester still refused to give up however, and James Maddison was able to convert a second penalty of the game before Barnes also completed his brace with a neat finish in the last minute of the game.

Unfortunately for Leicester it was very much a case of too little too late on Monday, as the Foxes lost 5-3 and are now one of the clear favourites to be relegated to the Championship this season.
